The town of Annecy, located in Haute-Savoie, is famous for its canals, nearby ski resorts, tourist activities and lake.
Annecy is one of the main destinations for holidaymakers and attracts many foreign visitors, thanks to its historical and architectural heritage. Four tourist information offices welcome visitors throughout the year and provide information on activities around the lake, places to visit and accommodation in Annecy.
Annecy Tourist Office’s digital signage project was mainly dedicated to its external communication, which the town wanted to be displayed in different locations in the city. Annecy Tourist Office’s aim was to be able to share tourist information, events taking place in the region, practical information about transport or the weather, all thanks to screens placed both indoors and outdoors. One of the key criteria for the tourist office was the creation and distribution of its communications on its indoor, outdoor, and touch-screen totems from a single platform.
The solutions provided
After a call to competition with another software publisher, Annecy Tourist Office chose to use Neoscreen software to control its screens and create its own content, thanks to the Neomaker application. Some fifteen Neoscreen licences were therefore deployed. The tourist office chose to install portrait-mode touch-screen totems, which are suitable for disabled users thanks to a scrolling mode for information on the screen. Part of the equipment installed was managed by our resellers, and the other part by a competitor company. The theatre, Centre Bonlieu arts centre and the tourist office have thus been equipped with our hardware and software solutions.
In particular, it is the Annecy structure that controls all the screens in the various locations around the city.
